(2010–2012)

    A year later, after a much-needed hiatus from live events, in November 2010, I organised Bleak November, a short east coast tour for AUTHOR & PUNISHER, BATILLUS, and THEOLOGIAN, with dates in Wallingford, Connecticut; Somerville, Massachusetts; Brooklyn; Albany; and Philadelphia. Continuing with the "Bleak" series, a few more events were produced under this monicker from February to August 2011, at the newly launched Brooklyn venue The Acheron.

    In December 2011 APEX FEST IV came together on relatively short notice at the newly opened Brooklyn venue Saint Vitus Bar, featuring NYODENE D, REQUIEM, PLANNING FOR BURIAL, THE VOMIT ARSONIST, YOU., DECIMUS, STATIQBLOOM, and PIGLIKE (Montana Masback of TOURNAMENT).

    In February 2012 THEOLOGIAN started the new year paired with ALBERICH for an appearance at John Zorn’s NYC venue The Stone, as part of an event series curated by Dominick Fernow (PRURIENT/VATICAN SHADOW/Hospital Productions). In mid-June, THEOLOGIAN headed north to play in Montreal for the first time, for the Festival Suoni per il Popolo, playing with THISQUIETARMY, AUN, the Toronto-based drone metal act NORTHUMBRIA, and MENACE RUINE side project S/V\R.

    THEOLOGIAN ended 2012 joining my friend Jonathan Canady, formerly of DEATHPILE, with a December performance at the long-running weekly event Weird, which came to an end only two months later.

    As the year progressed, I curated many more events in NYC, and a three-date summer East Coast micro-tour for Montreal-based acts AUN and THISQUIETARMY. The autumn and winter months included more events at The Acheron and Saint Vitus Bar, including a show by AUTHOR & PUNISHER on Halloween night, smack dab in the middle of the post–Hurricane Sandy mayhem, closing the year with a very well-attended appearance by Canadian friends MENACE RUINE and NORTHUMBRIA in December, joined by SEWER GODDESS, REQUIEM, and THEOLOGIAN.
